Hard to believe we are coming to the end of our first 10 weeks. It has been an amazing start to an overachieving year. We have given a college readiness exam to every student on campus and are eagerly awaiting the results to show off our exceptional school. The late start Mondays are proving to be very effective and our 1st “intervention” Friday to help students catch up was a great success. College night at Valley HS was a good night for our seniors who seemed to over populate the booths and workshops during the presentations.
Parents we will begin our own Local Control Accountability Plan meetings in November and December, please come to these important meetings to help create the current and future needs of Segerstrom High School. We look forward to hearing your input to keep Segerstrom the best school in the city.
Seniors have taken the ACT and are now working on college applications and their ‘Senior Project.’ The senior project is a great experience for our seniors and requires the acquisition of valuable career skills. From the moment our students begin their day, it is critical they receive the proper rest, nutrition, and parental support to get their day started in the right direction and are properly prepared. Throughout the day students need to understand the self-responsibility they must work on to help complete the goal: acquiring the skills necessary for readiness in a career of your own choice or success in post-secondary education.
Our Mission Statement:
To maintain a community that provides a challenging and supportive environment, which empowers students to develop the skills and strategies necessary for post-secondary success.
