Dear Parents and Students,
I would like to thank the entire school community for making me feel so welcome in becoming a part of the Edison family. I am so proud to be the principal at Edison and I will continue to support and lead the work of educating our students to not only be college and career ready, but to be a leader in a global world. I would like an opportunity to meet each of you. I am having my first Principal Parent Tea, Wednesday, August 31, at 8:15 a.m. and I hope that you can make it. Childcare will be provided along with breakfast refreshments.
For those families that are new, I would like to welcome you to Edison School. For those of you who have been long time members of our community, you know what a special place Edison is. Edison’s school community is warm, accepting, and dedicated to providing all of our students with a positive, challenging, and enriching learning experience.
The Edison Elementary School mission is for all students to achieve personal excellence: academically, emotionally, socially, and culturally. Our team of educators, students, parents and community will work together to provide educational opportunities and support. Our goal is for Edison students to maximize their potential as successful lifelong learners and contributing members of a global 21st century economy.
Please mark your calendar for the first day back to school, Wednesday, August 24, and Back to School Night, Thursday, September 1. Back to School Night will begin at 5:00 in the MPR for a brief welcome and introduction of staff. Classroom parent/teacher meetings will follow, 5:15 – 5:50 and 5:55 – 6:30.
I look forward to seeing our students in the upcoming weeks and hope you enjoy the remainder of the summer break.
Dr. Gina Zyburt
Principal, Edison Elementary School
